Match Report Press Report

Alton Academy 2 Lost to IOW 3 in a close match.

With the home team having higher Gradings in 4 of the strings, the match was always going to be in their favour. The away team proved the statisticians wrong though by clinching a great win.

On paper, the number 3 string should have been the closest, with only 53 ranking points separating the two players before the match. Home advantage prevailed though, with James Lyne winning through.

It was the number 5 String which turned out to be the most competitive, with the Players battling out over a total of 134 Points ! Victory finally going to the Away Player, Tim Luker.

If the Home No. 1 player, Paul Searle, had not had to withdraw after 2 game(s) the result could have been closer.
